Hope it Floats!

If you missed our Facebook and Twitter feeds you would’ve missed news that our 2014 fundraiser was an absolute huge success and we’ve even got excitement in the ranks to do it all over again in 2015. Which we’re up for, if you are?

Many thanks to all who joined in the fun and huge thanks for all those who helped us raise a whopping great big £2,467.51 which will go directly towards young adults programmes at Sangkheum Centre for Children, Salariian Kampuchea and This Life Cambodia.

Our Justgiving page is still open and will be until the end of the year should you wish to donate! If you would like to register your interest for 2015 then please do so my emailing

The day started off as a typical early September day in Bewl Water Kent, the rain stayed away and the sun even debuted at some parts of the day. Once the team had signed in, given a safety briefing and then issued their green bands they were ready for the their first race, or were they… To up the authenticity of the experience they donned Khmer kramas (typical scarves worn in Cambodia, a very useful piece of cloth worn on heads to starve off the heat of the day, worn by men in the home and even comes in useful when climbing a cocoanut tree).

Out of three races we won one, but not fast enough to qualify for the finals of the day, hence the urge to try again next year! The fasted time for Hope It Floats (our aptly named boat name) was 1.07.26! GO TEAM!!!

Here’s some photos on our new Facebook Page. Don’t forget to Like and Share!
