Dragon Boat Racing – Fun(d)raiser 2016

Dragon Boat

Dragon Boat at Bewl Water

Following up from previous years’ successful events, HOPE will once again join the annual Dragon Boat Racing at Bewl Water. Over the last couple of years, we have seen some amazing displays of paddle power, fun and excitement with both the actual dragon boat racing and fundraising efforts exceeding expectations.

Mekong Experiences will once again be the main team sponsor, and we are truly grateful for the fantastic support and efforts from the enthusiastic Dragon Boat Team and their friends and families. To date, more than £3,500 has been raised from the dragon boat racing to support some of the local community projects we work with in Cambodia and we envisage another successful event and great day out at Bewl Water this year.

A great day out for the whole family

As has been the case with previous events, this year’s Dragon Boat Festival should be a great day out for the whole family. A full dragon boat team consists of 16 paddlers plus one drummer, but we’d love to hear from you whether you would like to paddle, drum, man a stall, organise a tombola, bake some cupcakes or simply just relax, enjoy and provide moral support on the day.

Therefore, remember to put Saturday 10 September 2016 in your calendars, please get in touch and we’ll be happy put your name down on the team roster…!!
