HOPE’s 2009 Cycle Challenge – London to Brighton.
This year’s cycle challenge is open for all those willing and able and will cover 70 miles on a beautiful scenic route from London to Brighton. Remember part of the beauty of this part of the world is the North and South Downs which means lots of hills!! It’s a tough challenge and will require a high fitness level, enough to cycle at least 70 miles in 7 – 8 hours.
Are you…
- Ready to take on a 2009 challenge?
- Reasonably fit?
- Able to raise a minimum of £250 in sponsorship money for HOPE?
- In ownership of or have access to a good bike?
- Wanting to help in the future of the young people we support?
- Free SUNDAY 12th of JULY?
If you think you are up for the challenge we would welcome your commitment. The ride will have some volunteer support but is not a fully fledged organised trip, so don’t expect a rub down and refreshments every 5 miles! We recommend training in the months beforehand is essential. Remember it is important that training should involve hours in the saddle as much as distance. A decent bike is also highly recommended with suitable gearing for the distance and terrain. (We can advise on this and recommend a service prior to setting out.)
Please contact us to find out more or to register.
If you are not up for the challenge why not join us for a celebration in Brighton after the event and welcome in the participants? More details to come soon…
